St. Louis Teens for Christ – Mission Statement St. Louis Teens for Christ is a non-denominational ministry directed to teens in the greater St. Louis-St. Charles area. Our primary focus is to reach teenagers with the good news of Jesus Christ. The fact that He was sent to earth in the flesh and gave His life for us so that we might live and have a personal and intimate relationship with Him is the primary backbone of this ministry. This is the first and foremost message relayed to the teens. We at St. Louis Teens for Christ believe that everyone has a void in their heart that can only be filled by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We also believe that without this relationship it is not possible for anyone to enter into the kingdom of heaven (John 3:3). The main way that we communicate this message is through local Bible clubs. We provide youth a place where they can come, be encouraged and learn practical ways to apply God's word to their individual lives. Each TFC club meeting usually lasts about two hours each week. Within this time span we will have prayer, announcements, play games, sing songs and have a message that will directly apply to each teenager. We teach the teens how to have personal devotions, how to witness and lead others to Christ, and how to live out the Word of God each and every day. We always give an open invitation to teenagers who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior so that they might have the opportunity to receive Him. This is just a general format and we are very sensitive to what the Holy Spirit has to say to us each week. Summer camps and/or mission trips are typically offered at least one week each summer. These trips provide opportunities for kids to take a break from their routine and focus more intently on their relationship with Christ and serving others. These challenging, life-changing experiences will impact them for eternity. Bible Quizzing is a fantastic tool (and a fun, competitive activity) that encourages kids to memorize scripture and apply it to real-life situations. It takes place throughout the school year. Most of our quizzing is local, but out-of-town tournaments are an option for those who are interested. We believe that the Lord has called us to this area and that He has tremendous plans for us to follow. However, He has not shown us the whole picture yet, so we will always remain open to His direction and what He has to say. We also believe that true discipleship is not an option, but rather a command to complete the life of every believer in Christ (2 Timothy 2:2). We make it a point in this ministry to make ourselves part of the teenagers’ lives. We open our home all times of the day, every day of the week for them to have someone to talk to that understands. We are not here to replace or undermine parents in their God-ordained role of training up their sons and daughters (Proverbs 22:6). Rather, we reinforce the importance of healthy family relationships and teens honoring God by honoring their parents as commanded in scripture. We are supported on a missionary basis. That is, people who believe in the work that we do send contributions to take care of the needs we are faced with in our ministry.
